Abstract: This paper describes the Random Early Detection and its algorithm which was proposed by Sally Floyd.It is used for the congestion control in Active Queue Management in Network Trafficking.However there are many techniques are acquired for the congestion control mechanisms, Random Early Detection has its own priority. This technique is an effective technique since it senses the congestion well in advance before the collision has been occurred by the probability of threshold values.
